Goodbye Until Next Year

Hello fellow bloggers! This is my final post until next year. In my post I will be sharing what my favourite part of 2015/2016, one area where I demonstrated improvement and what my hopes and goals are for next year. Enjoy.
goodbye
My favourite part of 2015/2016 and most memorable moment was going to Muskoka Woods. I loved meeting new people and doing all of the fun activities. I liked learning new things about my fellow classmates and pushing my limits to try new things. My favourite activities were the big swing and the zip-lines. I liked how the leaders got so involved and made us feel welcome at all of the activities. Our cabin leaders were very nice and fun, their names were Rosina, Cameron and Brooke. If we want to remember Muskoka we now have jokes to tell and songs to sing to make us think of Muskoka and the wonderful experience it gave us. Muskoka was my most memorable moment in 2015/2016. One area where I demonstrated improvement was in math. I learned a lot more ways to solve questions and how to explain how I got that answer. I have especially improved in fractions, I’ve never fully understood fractions until this year, because our teacher explained it until we remembered and understood what he was teaching us. I am hoping to keep improving in math throughout grade 8. My hopes and goals for next year is to be a very good student in math and to win the math award at my graduation. I hope to get better in language, I want to improve on tests and take more time to study. I want to pick out more helpful information to help me study for tests and quiz’s when condensing jot notes. I want to take my time on handouts, then I will hopefully get better grades and understand more of what I’m doing. I want to be a better student and a better person to my classmates and everyone in my school community. I want to help out around the school as much as I can next year and be the best person I can be.

Blogging Challenge Week #10

Hello Bloggers! This is the last week in the blogging challenge. We are asked to evaluate our blog and the actual blogging challenge.

Through out the blogging challenge I have completed twenty-one blog posts, ten of which are blogging challenge. Some of the blogging challenge posts I got to choose and wrote about my own interests. Over the past ten weeks I have received 5 comments from classmates and one from an overseas student. The post that has received the most comments was week seven activity seven Goodbyeand eight, which has two comments. I think these posts received the most comments because they were about my opinion and what I think about the topic. The post that I enjoyed writing the most was the free write we got to write on week three, because I got to tell readers about myself and then they can learn about my interests and my talents. I have six widgets on my blog page, I think this is a good number because the categories are: recent posts, recent comments, archives, blogroll, overseas blogroll and visitors, therefore you can access almost everything just from the widgets. I have five overseas bloggers on my overseas blogroll. I didn’t use any blog tools to show creativity, but I did add a saying to my blog page “Treat everyday like it’s your last!”

My friend completed the audit part for activity one, here is what she had to say. Her first impression was that my blog looked nice and looked organized. The colours on my blog captured her attention but the images distracted her from reading the posts. I could improve by changing my conclusion paragraph every once in a while and adding more detail to some of my posts.

Blogging Challenge Week #9 Activity #3

Hello Bloggers! For the ninth week into the blogging challenge, I chose to write about the third activity, my future. Here is what I’m planning on doing.
Vet
I will be attending my high school years at Lambton Kent Composite School. I will hopefully be on all the sports teams such as soccer, basketball, volleyball and badminton. I am hoping to get a lot of awards and plan to be very dedicated to my school work to do so. I am hoping to go to school at the University of Guelph or the Ridgetown College to become a veterinarian. Since the day I first saw my dog, I always had a love for animals and loved to help and take care of them. I have grown up with Siberian Huskies and have seen many different kinds of dogs that my family members own. I also grew up on a farm with cattle so I know a bit about them and how to treat bigger animals. When I graduate I hope to work at the veterinarian office near my home town and family. After University or College I hope to buy an apartment and live there until I can afford a house. I am interested in starting my own kennel, breeding, and boarding animals. I will have a dog of my own, probably a Siberian Husky, since I have grown up with them.

Thank you everyone who has taken the time to read my post about my future and how I see it. I encourage you to lave a positive comment below and tell me what you want to do when you grow up. Happy Blogging!

I decided to comment on Brandon’s post about why bottled water is unsafe to drink and for the environment, I think he is right that it isn’t the safest for the environment and pollutes the air. Also not all of the plastic recycled from the bottles is reused and most ends up in landfills. I chose to leave a comment on Mahith’s post about chess because I enjoy playing chess and it was interesting how he wrote and talked about all of the pieces that are needed to play and what they do and why they are needed to play. I wrote a comment on Reese’s post about the poem she wrote. I found it very relaxing and enjoyable because it was very descriptive and very realistic.
I enjoy commenting on people’s blog all around the world because then you can learn about different cultures and countries and share your thoughts with that person who wrote that post. I have often found post to comment on by picking post that I think I would enjoy to read or learn about. Most posts I comment on I am interested in and want to learn more about them. Smme great comment starters include: I like how… I find this interesting because… I didn’t know that… Did you know that…

Thank you bloggers who took the time to read my post for the eighth week into the blogging challenge. I encourage you to leave a positive comment below and write what kind of posts you enjoy commenting on. Happy Blogging!

Blogging Challenge Week #7 Activity #7

Hello fellow bloggers! For the seventh activity of the seventh week we are asked what we would do and how it would change my lifestyle if the electricity went out in our country.  Here is my response.

If the electricity grid went out in Canada my lifestyle wouldn’t change that much. I would go outside and play soccer or basketball with my family. I love to read so I would curl up on the couch and read all day until I went cross-eyed. I would make meals over the fire. My sisters and I would make different activities to keep us busy. We would have to use flashlights and hope the batteries wouldn’t die. This is how my lifestyle would change if the electricity grid went out in Canada.

Thank you everyone who took the time to read my post about what I would do if the electricity went out in Canada. Please leave a positive comment about how your lifestyle would change if the power went out in your country. Happy Blogging!

Blogging Challenge Week #7 Activity #8

Hello fellow bloggers! For the eighth activity in week seven of the blogging challenge I will be writing a poem that is describing a relaxing picture. Here is my poem, enjoy!
Relaxing Settings

Sitting in a summers breeze,

watching as the clouds move by,

listening to the sea make it’s sound,

seeing the birds fly high,

waiting for the sun to leave,

so peaceful you fall asleep,

sitting in a summers breeze

Thank you everyone who took the time to read this poem about a relaxing settings. I encourage you to leave a positive comment and tell me your way of relaxing after a long day. Happy Blogging!

Blogging Challenge Week #7 Activity #3

Hello Bloggers! For the third activity in week seven, the question is, “Your family are stranded on a deserted island, with nothing but your clothes. How will you entertain yourselves?” Here is what my family and I would do to entertain ourselves.
island
If my family and I were stranded on a island with nothing, the first thing we would do is find food, water and a safe place to sleep. My siblings and I are all very athletic so we would play soccer with a coconut, play volleyball or we would race. We would always be moving,  we would also go for long walks by the water, and explore everything there is to explore. My family are very interesting cooks so my mom would find something to cook and my brother and dad would make meals for us. We would need a safe place to sleep where we wouldn’t get cold or wet, while we can still get to the things we need in a hurry. We would also need new clothes to keep us warm at night, and if we got rained on, we aren’t cold during the day. My brother and dad are interested in building, so they would probably build a raft out of wood. My sisters, mom and I would go find good wood that would keep us floating. This is what my family and I would do to entertain ourselves if we were stranded on an island.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to read my post about getting stuck on an island. I hope you enjoyed my post and encourage you to leave a positive comment and tell me what you would do to entertain yourself if your family was stranded on an island. Happy Blogging!
